The English rock band Blur formed in 1989. The group originally consisted of Damon Albarn (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Graham Coxon (guitar, vocals), Alex James (bass), and Dave Rowntree (drums).
Blur’s debut album, Leisure, was released in 1991 to mixed reviews. However, the band’s second album, 1993’s Modern Life Is Rubbish, met with critical acclaim, and helped to establish them as one of the most important bands of the 1990s.
1994’s Parklife was even more successful, cementing the band’s place as one of the biggest acts in the UK. The album spawned the hit singles “Girls & Boys”, “Parklife”, and “To the End”.
In 1995, Blur released The Great Escape, which was less well-received by fans and critics. However, the band bounced back in 1997 with the release of their self-titled album Blur
