Crazy Eights is a card game for two to four players. The aim of the game is to be the first player to lose all of their cards. The game is played with a regular deck of 52 cards.
The player who is first to lose all their cards, is the winner.
To begin, each player is dealt eight cards, face down. The remaining cards are placed face down in the middle of the players, forming the stock pile. The top card of the stock pile is turned over to begin the discard pile.
The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. On a player’s turn they must draw one card from the stock pile and then discard one. The card that is discarded must be of the same suit as the card that was just drawn.
If a player is unable to discard a card, then they must pick up the entire stock pile and end their turn.
If the player can discard a card, then they must put the card into the middle of the table, face up. The next player then has the choice of picking up the card, or playing another card.
If the player puts down an eight, then they must say “Crazy Eights” and the player to their left must then drink.
If the player puts down a two, then the player to their left must drink.
