The townspeople have all but given up hope that things will get better, when they hear of a man who claims to have made a deal with the devil himself. This man, known as the Devil’s Advocate, is said to be able to help the townspeople in exchange for their souls. The townspeople are desperate, so they decide to take him up on his offer.
The Devil’s Advocate begins by asking the townspeople to gather all of their belongings that they want to keep. He tells them that he will need to take them with him to the devil in order to seal the deal. The townspeople are hesitant, but they eventually hand over their belongings. The Devil’s Advocate then takes them to a dark and foreboding place, where the devil awaits.
The devil is angry that the Advocate has brought the townspeople to him, but the Advocate manages to calm him down. He tells the devil that he will give him the souls of the townspeople in exchange for his help. The devil agrees, and the Advocate hands over the belongings of the townspeople.
