Jörg David Steinmetzmeister is a German sculptor and installation artist. He was born in 1967 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Steinmetzmeister studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1986 to 1992. From 1992 to 1995, he studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Joseph Beuys and received his diploma. Steinmetzmeister has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Villa Massimo Prize in Rome, the Kiefer Hablitzel Prize in Basel, and the Wilhelm Lehmbruck Prize in Duisburg.
