Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ Dark Road is a fanfiction written by Gold. It is set after the events of Kingdom Hearts χ and Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ.
Riku and Mickey are in pursuit of the remaining Orbs of Darkness. They believe that the Orbs are the only way to stop Xehanort from returning. However, they are not the only ones after the Orbs. Aqua, Terra, Ventus, and Yen Sid are also after the Orbs, each for their own reasons.
Aqua is determined to stop Xehanort from returning and fulfill her promise to Terra and Ventus. Terra wants to stop Xehanort from returning so that he can finally be at peace. Ventus wants to stop Xehanort from returning so that he can be reunited with Aqua and Terra. Yen Sid wants to stop Xehanort from returning so that he can protect the future of the Keyblade Masters.
